What is going to happen at the event?

This is a red carpet event double feature! Dress nicely because you are going to get your picture taken on the red carpet with people from the films! Before the show starts, we are going to give you a sneak peek at our upcoming film Border Brothers. We will be screening the western short film Mable then after the film there will be a quick on stage interview with some of the cast and crew from the film. Then we will have a quick break and show our next short film As the Man Drives which will also have a quick on stage interview after the showing. 

What are the movies about?

Border Brothers (Sneak Peek)

Border Brothers is a feature length comedy shot here in Bakersfield and around Kern County. We will be showing some scenes from the movie. The movie Border Brothers should be out by the end of the year.

Mable (Western Short Film)

Mable is a short western film shot in Kern County by local indie film company Hectic Films. The film is about a woman (Mable) that gets kidnapped. Mable was directed by Rachel Montgomery and Rickey Bird. It stars Coryn Mcbride, Shaun Piccinnio and Dt Carney.

As The Man Drives (Crime Drama Short Film)

A short crime drama about a detective that kills his wife after he caught her cheating. He drives in the middle of nowhere with his ex-partner to get rid of the body. As The Man Drives was written by Nick Belardes and Stars Dt Carney. Directed by Rickey Bird.

Can I bring my kids to the event?

We do not recommend bringing small children as there is some strong language in As the Man Drives. There is NO NUDITY in either film.

Why is it important to go to this event?

The profits from this event will go to film festival entrees fees for both of these films and go back into upcoming Hectic Films projects. It is also important if you want to get involved with local filmmaking. What a great way to meet new people involved in independent film.

What else do I get?

The first 50 people to purchase tickets will get a FREE Border Brothers poster once they arrive to the premiere. That is 50 people per showing. Everyone will receive a Mable Poster with a paid ticket. We will also be selling Hectic Films movies, stickers, comics and posters.
